Trying to customize WordPress with temporary servers?

  • Hello, I am a first time user of WordPress and am waiting for propogation at Hostgator. Meanwhile, I’d love to be learning and exploring my new siye, (kid in a candy store), so I temporarily changed the dnlservers so I could work on the site while I’m waiting to be properly propagized, (somehow I dont like the sound of that :-),
    Anyway, I cant seem to log in or get access to the admin area where I could be getting my site ready.

    please Help??

    Do what Esmi said. Propagation only lasts usually 24 hours. If you’re in a hurry, do a hosts file modification on your local computer. You’ll need the IP address of your server to do so. Basically, it will only work for your computer, but you’ll be specifying where your browser should go for a specific URL. You’re simply bypassing DNS.
