Page preview with page template

    Hello,
    I have an issue with my pages preview. I have a page template for my CPT – single-vh_eventlist.php. When I preview the page in the backend it just shows up without any formatting – like page.php template. After publishing it is all fine, so the issue is just with the preview feature.
    Is there something I am missing or wordpress just lacks this feature? If so, are there any hacks for that?

    PS Preview if vital for my project as pages submitted by users are sent for the moderation and appear in Pending list. If there is no way to preview them, there is no way to determine which ones should be published and which are not

    Strange, other CPT posts show fine so this is not a WP issue, but something I did wrong.
    Could you please give me a direction? What can potentially cause the problem?
