• I stupidly attempted to link my wordpress to Blogger, and was going to direct blogger to an index2. Somehow, it hijacked index.php.

When I go into wp-admin, all of my posts are still there, however, when I view site – nothing appears live online.

Posts, categories, comments are still in admin, in other words, I just have to figure out how to re-publish it so it shows up when you go to the site!

  • Andy, the same thing just happened to me today. I changed the name of the bad file (in my case it was index.html) to something else, i.e. indexbad.html, edited my most recent post and the correct page then loaded.

I’m new to WP so there’s probably a better way to solve the problem but it worked for me.

    Good luck.

Thanks. I’ve tried all kinds of things – including this and cannot get it to work. Fortunately all appears to NOT be lost on the wp-admin page, however, I cannot seem to find the posts or get them live no matter what I change the index page to, via the WP software, or FTP.

So basically, I still can’t figure this out – searched everywhere and its probably in the end a mindless troubleshooting problem.

But, for example, even when I post, it will show up on the wp-admin page, but nothing shows up on my site. I cannot find where in the files these posts / comments are databased. Someone please help.

First off, the information is stored under your MySQL database. The files are only the interface and workings of it. Could you post your index file to https://pastebin.com/ for us to see if we can figure out what is wrong.

thanks for responding – i have done away with my index file, however. is there a template index.php i can use to redirect? I’m having trouble accessing the mySQL from my server right now. Any chance you have a template for a wordpress index that I can reformat?

    Thanks again

I guess you wrote index.php . Maybe you can download WordPress files again, and upload only index.php file to your server in the folder usually was that file (if you are using WordPress 1.5 or over, and you’re using a WordPress theme too).

I think that should be enough ??

Did you do away with the index.php file under the wordpress directory or under the themes/yourthemehere/ directory?

If the earlier then here is the code:https://pastebin.com/356942
If the latter then I do not know what theme you were using. Here is the classic theme’s file: https://pastebin.com/356943
