[Plugin: WP-Table Reloaded] Uploading Tables with hyperlinks

    Hi

    I love the plugin – but I do not think that I am able to upload a table from Excel or Open Office that contains hyperlinks and maintain the hyperlinks once they are in the WP Re loaded table. I have tried to do this with HTML selected and just get weird code entered in the table and obviously does not work with CSV as hyperlinks are not maintained

    I know that I can insert a hyperlink once text is in the table, but the tables I am using are very large and it would take far too long to insert one by one

    Is there a solution to this problem/something I am not doing

    Would be very grateful for your advice

    Hi,

    thanks for your report.

    You are correct, CSV files usually don’t keep the HTML code for the links.
    However, HTML import should keep the links, so you might want to try to export the table as HTML in Excel/OO and then import that.

    Now, if you don’t want specific link texts, but just the URL as the link, you could also use this Plugin Extension from my website: https://tobias.baethge.com/2009/12/extension-1-url-to-link-conversion/

    Many thanks for this Tobias. The extension is a great idea.

    I saved excel table as HTML and upload as HTML,but it did not work. Not sure why

    Hi,

    yes, the HTML that Excel exports is not valid sometimes, which leads to a failed import.

    Let’s hope that the Extension will work for you.
