Homepage not loading – possible error in .htaccess file??

  • Hi,

    I recently started having problems with my WordPress Site running correctly: particularly, the homepage does not load at all, and leads to a 500 Internal server error. The interior category and post pages load fine when the URL is typed directly to them.

    homepage:

    The error logs reveal the following lines:

    Some of the files it is attempting to look for, i.e. necklaces.html, is from another website. I’m assuming that the .htaccess file is incorrect. Can someone assist me on how to debug this issue??

  • Try:
    – switching to the Twenty Eleven theme by renaming your current theme’s folder in wp-content/themes and adding “-old” to the end of the folder name using FTP or whatever file management application your host provides.

    – resetting the plugins folder by FTP or phpMyAdmin.

    – re-uploading all files & folders – except the wp-content folder – from a fresh download of WordPress.

    it is clear that it concerns a RAM issue. Is this error from your VPS or shared hosting?

    Shared Hosting. If it were a RAM issue, would it effect only the homepage and not the other pages, and why so??
