I have had the wordpress privacy setting at ‘private’ whilst constructing the website so that Google wouldn’t index it. I have now re set the privacy to public, and it is showing that staus on the wordpress button. However, the Google spider is registering it as ‘disallow’. I have tried putting in a robot.txt with the ‘allow’ code but it still won’t spider. Also, the Google adds don’t work. I can’t find the setting in the database? Now tearing my remaining hair out! Help please

Unless you provide a link to a page demonstrating the problem, no one will be able to offer much in the way of assistance.

Sorry! The domain is https://www.isle-of-iona.net The blank space on the right hand side is where the Google add should be. The site is being transferred from https://www.isle-of-mull.com where you can see it working. The only difference is .net is with Freezone and .com with oneandone

There is no privacy setting on that site but it may take a little while for Google to update its cache.

OK. I removed the robots.txt just in case. How did you know that there was no privacy setting? Oh yes, and thanks for that!

I examined the source of the pages on your site.

There is no mention of robots follow or anything that I can see. Sorry to be a pain, but what were you looking for?

A nofollow, noindex meta tag in the <head>,?head> section of your pages.

Ah! That is really useful to know!
Many many thanks for your help!
