[Plugin: Ninja Galleries] No longer working?
-
I created a gallery, attached images, etc. Hit publish and view the gallery and this is what I get, “Error 404 – Not Found”. Is this plugin being supported now? The authors site doesn’t even reference it anymore.

The plugin still works fine but it is definitely on our long list of projects to update or create currently. We are currently only referencing products that are new or recently revamped for public use.
Your particular issue is probably because Ninja Galleries uses a custom post type and on initial creation your rewrite rules don’t know how to handle the new content.
Go to settings > permalinks and click “save changes”. You don’t actually need to change anything just click the button. After that try viewing the gallery again and all should work fine.
No, still doing it.
Also, when I try to activate the plugin this happens,Fatal error: Out of memory (allocated 116916224) (tried to allocate 131072 bytes) in /home/(I removed path name)/public_html/wp-includes/cache.php on line 505
But the plugin shows up as installed.
When I go to preview the gallery, before publishing the title shows up but this shows where the images should be:
Fatal error: Out of memory (allocated 116654080) (tried to allocate 35 bytes) in /home/(I removed path name)/public_html/wp-includes/cache.php on line 1121Those memory issues are hard to track down. Obviously you current set-up doesn’t like the plugin for some reason but I have no idea why that would be. I still use the plugin on a couple sites and it works fine.
What other plugins do you have running and what theme are you using. Might be something there that’s conflicting but I honestly don’t know what that would be off the top of my head.
Librio theme.
Plugins: Akismet, All in One SEO Pack, Collapsing Categories, Category Order, Custom Field Template, Easy Featured Image, Fast Secure Contact Form, GT Tabs, IGIT Related Post, Multiple Category Selection Widget, Pinterest Button, Subscribe to Comments Reloaded, Tentblogger and WP Realtime Sitemap.
I’ve even deleted some plugins, in case I had to many but it still says that. I’ve also added a plugin since then just to see if it would do it and it does not have that error.
I uninstalled more plugins and no longer am getting the error on the preview (although not seeing any photos either.)
When I reactivate the Ninja Galleries I got this:
Fatal error: Out of memory (allocated 117178368) (tried to allocate 287 bytes) in /home/***/public_html/wp-includes/wp-db.php on line 1372After deactivating some plugins and now trying to reactive I’m getting the out of memory for those too. So that part has nothing to do with this plugin. But not sure if that would mess up getting the no page found 404 error.
Interestingly I spoke with my host and they say this plugin is what is causing it. And no matter that I uninstalled it, now I keep running into out of memory problems for all the other plugins.
Well, delete Ninja Galleries and see if that clears up your memory error. If it does then your configuration doesn’t like Ninja Forms and I have no way of knowing why without server access.
If not then your host has no idea what they’re talking about, which is generally my vote only because of past experience. But that would be the first thing to try.
It could be an issue of how much memory is allocated for PHP to use. Again, without server access it’s hard to say what’s going on.
I deactivated it and uninstalled it but now all the rest of the plugins are doing the out of memory thing.
Yeah, I don’t think I was talking with the brightest of customer service people. I’ve gone through the check list of making sure I’m at the maximum memory of 256m in my php.ini and it’s set to the maximum. I’m not sure why all of a sudden I’m having these issues or even how to clear it up now. I’ve been deactivating what I can with the rest of my plugins, just to see if it is still doing it and yup, when I got to reactive a plugin the out of memory for all of them now is the same. It still activates them but only if I hit the back button and refresh the plugin page do I see that it reactivated.
I had a site once that had this issue out of no where. I’ll tell you what I did.
- I exported my content.
- I did a completely fresh WordPress install
- Imported my conent
- Reinstalled my theme
- Reinstalled my plugins
I did these and checked for error along the way. Everything worked fine after I did this and yet everything was exactly the same. I never was able to figure out what caused it.
The more I read, the more I’m realizing that is what I may have to do. Thanks for your time in helping with this.
I imagine this is going to suck. ??
My site was a 5 site multi-site with hundreds of pages and it wasn’t as bad as I thought it would be. The whole process can be done in about 15 to 20 minutes depending on the complexity of your site.
I’m happy to help and I know how frustrating that error can be and how helpless you feel because nobody ever knows what’s actually causing it.
I’ll be online for a couple more hours if I can help with anything. ??
Thanks, I appreciate that. My site has 1500+ posts, nearly 20,000 images, not sure if that is considered small.
I’m a little unsure if it will even help, since I was really stupid and did not backup the database until AFTER this happened. I had one from before but that was about 50 posts ago and I hate to lose those posts.
Wait, maybe I’m confused on how to go about doing this. I thought it was a lot of reuploading stuff, but is this going to be as simple as it would be if I were just upgrading to a new version of WP?
Well, that’s a decent size site but not to overwhelming. If you can get to the normal export section of your admin that should work well.
Sometimes the best was is to use a different directory so you can leave the other site live while you do this. Then you can just change your root on your server or move it over once everything looks right.
