Im using Hostgator as my hosting provider. I have a cpanel for site1.com and another cpanel for site2.com but both of them within the same reseller account. The main site for multisite is site1.com and I’m using subdomains like blog1.site1.com , blog2.site1.com, blog3.site.com… ans so on. I installed the mapping plugin (Otto) and for example blog1.site1.com is mapping site2.com, basically because i want site2.com to be the primary site for blog1.site1.com . My biggest dilemma now is that site2.com (setup as primary on dashboard) is no showing any content. The content should come from blog1.site1.com . I know i have not made any changes to site2.com. What changes do i need to make to site2.com to pull the content from blog1.site1.com? I had the guys at hostgator to take a look at it and nobody was able to get the plugin to work.

If you want to map site2.com, you need to NOT have a cpanel for it. Can’t have both.

oh ok. so how do i point site2.com to blog1.site1.com? remember i already followed instructions on the wp-admin and plugin, so blog1.site1.com is already mapping site2.com (primary). In other words what do i do with the domain site2.com?

    1) Get rid of the cpanel account.
    2) Re-read the directions. Where it says to just point the domain at the IP of site1.com? Do that.

Basically you’re going to park the domain site2.com on top of site1.com
