Any chance you are running anti-spam plugins which might be preventing WPBook Lite from inserting a comment into the db?

    Is the comment awaiting approval?

Does your debug text end right where your excerpt ends?

After the comment[time] was line, the next debug line should be “About to call wp_filter_comment on comment” etc.

If you’re never getting that comment, somehow WPBook Lite is dying right at the point of applying the preprocess_filter to the comment and checking it’s approval status.

I notice on the site there is a captcha for comments – depending on implementation, that might be failing – WPBook Lite doesn’t know how to pass the captcha when it goes to insert the comment.

    Hi John,

    Thanks for your response.

    Is the comment awaiting approval?

    No.

Does your debug text end right where your excerpt ends?

    Yes.

I notice on the site there is a captcha for comments – depending on implementation, that might be failing – WPBook Lite doesn’t know how to pass the captcha when it goes to insert the comment.

I’ve disabled this and will see if the comment comes over now… ??

The only other anti-spam tool in use is Akismet. Should this also be disabled?

John – turning off the Captcha has appeared to resolve the issue.

Are there any “spam” protection plugins that you endorse with your plugin?

    Cheers,
    Dan.

I only run Akismet, and have not tested against other anti-spam plugins – maybe other users can comment on this thread?

The question is really whether there is a way to either turn off or bypass the Captcha protection in the case of comments being posted by WPBook Lite.

    Which plugin were you using?
