happy with (insert hosting provider here)?

I’m looking for some advice, because I have to give it.
In the near future I’ll have to recommend a hosting plan to “important people,” and I’m looking at a few hosts; bluehost, 1&1, and aplus. Looking at 1&1 and aplus, and then looking at bluehost, it seems like bluehost is the obvious choice as they offer far more than either of the others for less money… so is there a catch? Or is bluehost really “all that?”
If you’ve dealt personally with any of the mentioned hosts here, could you let me know what your experience with them has been?
