I have a site where I am showing only one post on the home page. I have several other post that I want to display in the ‘recent post’ links, but not on the home page. In the settings I changed to only show one post I know that the default is to show the last post according to most recent date. Anyway to change this? I want a post with a more recent date to not be the main post that shows. Also change the order of the post in the ‘recent’ post’ column to not display by date order. I am using the TwentyTen theme.

    Thanks in Advance

One way would be to use a featured/slider plugin. Another is to take advantage of Sticky posts. You could also build a custom home.php template and use Conditional tags to showcase one or more posts from a specific post category or tag.

Thanks. I think I like the Sticky Post Idea this best. When I do this, however. The other post show up below, so my one post per page doesn’t work anymore. Anyway around this?
