custom post type with multiple templates???

  • Has anyone done this? I have seen no word of it and tried implementing without success.

    eg. I have a custom post type called (say) “Portfolio” within this I want to have the choice of multiple layouts /content types (galleries) while I “create new”. I cannot find any documentation about this… Can anyone help?

    Currently I am resorting to creating multiple post types for each layout. There must be a far easier way of producing the same results?
