Yoast Breadcrumbs don't show last page visited

I’ve enabled the Yoast Breadcrumbs on our site, (we are not a blog).

They work, but the trail of breadcrumbs appear to be based on the structure of the site rather than a trail of pages I’ve been to.

For instance, if I am at page “A”, and I go to page “B”, and page “B”‘s parent page is page “C”, then instead of seeing A>>B, I see C>>B.

I can’t find a setting within Yoast Breadcrumbs to change this, would like to have the trail of breadcrumbs be based on the route the user took to get to that page, not based on the structure of the site.

Hope all this makes sense, anyone have any ideas as to what I am doing wrong??
