WordPress Gallery Attachment Page Wont Open When Clicked

All of a sudden all the pictures stopped opening up in a separate attachment page when when using the [gallery]. I have to set the gallery settings as image file for them to load. the users started complaining that when they click on a picture it just goes back to the main post instead of the picture clicked. How can I fix this issue?
