Site gone after trying to move index.php to root

    I copied and moved the index.php from /wordpress to the root folder. Also copied htaccess to the root. Then i changed the General Settings of both WP url and Site url from https://www.mysite/wordpress to https://www.mysite/. Changing the WP url was a big mistake. I am in the process of downloading the all WP files and the database is backedup regularly. Where can i make a change to restore the site? Thanks
