Timthumb – A one stop shop for everything timthumb

  • So, my site is now using timthumb and Im new to it. So I thought I would start this thread to try and resolve my current issues with timthumb and to also bullet point any fixes that need to be done for anyone else in the same position as I have read a lot of posts regarding timthumb vunerability to your site being hacked.

    So firstly, my site has timthumb but what exactly is it ?

    There are no pictures being displayed where its being used ?
    How do I set up timthumb so that pictures are being displayed ?

    And if you are using timthumb for the first time, is there anything I need to do keep my site secure ? Or is there anything else I should be aware of whilst my site is using timthumb ?

    Ok, Im still struggling with timthumb. I just cant get it to work ?

    I have set permissions on cache directory under /wp-content/themes/canyon to 777, but its still not working ??

    Is there anything else I can try ?

    Can anyone please help ? Im absolutley stuck with this whole timthumb now ?

    I’ve been reading a bit more to try and understand what timthum is and am I right in saying its just a photo re-sizer ?

    What I dont get is how I link pictures. For instance each post I write has a sort of cover picture, but how do I make the link for that cover picture ?

    Im not entirely sure if its timthum not working or whether Im just now looking at things from the wrong angle and need to worry about getting pictures linked properly first ?
