Comments going to spam

  • I haven’t been at my blog for too long but I’m starting to get feedback comments that ended up in the spam file. These comments were definitely not spam though, in fact they were compliments on my blog contents. I’ve been lucky so far and caught them all and of course dragged them out of spam and then approved the comments to be posted on the articles they were related to.

    My question is what have I overlooked or what have I done wrong in my settings that caused these comments to go to spam?? What do I do to change whatever it is that needs changed??

    I’m using WordPress 3.3.1 and have Twenty Eleven.

  • I’m not sure how you have your Discussion settings set. I’ll point a few possibilities and others will probably mention more.

    Do you have anything in your Comment Blacklist?
    What plugins are you using?

    Thank you for replying! No, there is nothing in my Comment Blacklist. As for Plugins I’ve installed there is “Akismet” for spam but in my case it is overreacting. LOL There is also “Wassup” and Wassup Keywords”.

    As for the Discussion settings, how should they be set?? If someone can give me ideas I’ll check and see if maybe I’ve done something wrong on that.
