WordPress database bigger than Joomla database

    Hi,
    I have migrated my Joomla site to WordPress in localhost. My Joomla website has around 1500 articles and the database size is around 6MB with 4000 records. After migration when I checked the WordPress database size it showing 30MB with nearly 50,000 records. Is it normal for a WordPress database to be bigger than(five times) Joomla with same number of articles and images?

    When I checked the tables in WordPress database it showing an entry for each image, image size and alt text, where as in Joomla it shows only one entry per article.
    My website has around 10000 images.
    Please somebody help me.
