need a widget

I’m running a Graphene Theme

I have a sidebar. In the sidebar I can drop in many widgets such as:
calendar, RSS, and shopping cart

In it I can also drop in text. I want to write text but this widget doesn’t do what I want.

I can’t write a paragraph. It won’t let me have spaces between the lines. Perhaps it can but I don’t know how.

I can have spaces between the lines when I write but it will not display them
