New to WP starting an ecommerce

I’ve been coding sites through Dreamweaver for a while now and its time for me to jump into e commerce. I’m hoping WP can make my life easier.

But where do I start?

– Do I need any special programs?
– Can I run WP through Dreamweaver? Or does WP replace it? Do I need another web/text editor?

I understand that I need to download themes and plugins. But what is the first thing I need to do to get started?
