'Publish' Toggle Not Working

    I don’t know if this is a simple user error or not, but the ‘publish’ toggle within my post edits will not toggle down so that I can update my posts. simply clicking on it does nothing, and I haven’t found any changes in the settings that would otherwise hinder the use of the updating tool. if anyone has an idea as to what may be going on I’d really appreciate some help.

  • Have you tried:

    – deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem. If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).

    – switching to the Twenty Eleven theme to rule out any theme-specific problems.

    – resetting the plugins folder by FTP or PhpMyAdmin. Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems.

    – re-uploading the wp-admin and wp-includes folders from a fresh download of WordPress.

    Thanks for the quick response! I started fidgeting with the plug-ins and you were spot on. It turned out that only after I emptied the cache from an SEO Performance plug-in I was running, did the publishing tool toggle down once again. I’ll remember this for the future, although it was disconcerting at first.
