How to edit "sidebar template page template"?

For that particular page, I have selected the theme of showcase template as to remove the sidebar. But on the bottom you’ll see an area that’s shaded white with “recent posts.”

How do I completely remove that white-shaded area with that text so that only the page (and nothing more) is showing?
