This question is for Elegant Themes Deep Focus theme.

This theme only allows you to have one blog category while the rest are photo galleries. I want to find out how to have more than just one blog category.

This theme takes all your categories and turns them into a thumbnail gallery to navigate through your posts. I dont want this, and the option to change this is under the general settings> general section under blog category. The one category you select is the one that lists posts by title and description. There is an option to display all posts like a blog, but then it shows the entire post, not truncating super long posts.

Is there a way to edit the php to trick the categories into thinking they are also selected by the blog category option? Or even to edit the wp-admin deep focus options page to give me multiple selections? I hate when features are pointlessly limited…

  • As it’s a commercial theme that includes support in the purchase price you will need to seek support in the Elegant Themes support forum. They will be able to help you out.

thats what I was afraid of, They dont like it when one messes with their coding. I have been able to manipulate the css and php a lot so I was hoping someone would be able to give guidance in that area

I figured out a solution… parent categories. Placing the other categories under a parent category then designating that parent as the blog. done
