Can't comment

  • Hi there,

    There doesn’t seem to be an option to add comments to my blog.

    WP Version: WordPress 3.3.1.

    Ticked Boxes Discussion Settings:
    – Allow link notifications from other blogs (pingbacks and trackbacks)
    – Allow people to post comments on new articles
    – Anyone posts a comment
    – An administrator must always approve the comment

    Theme: Filtered

    URL: https://www.hildirowland.com

    I’ve tried:
    – Changing to default theme – Still no comments
    – Deleting Filtered Theme and reuploading – Still no comments
    – Changed Permalinks to default – Still no comments
    – Removed all plug-ins – Still no comments

    Does anyone have any ideas what else I could do to get comments working on my blog?

  • Can we see your site using the Twenty Eleven theme & comments enabled? Remember to check “Allow comments” in the Discussion pane on each Edit Page/Edit Post. If you do not see this pane, click Screen Options and check “Discussion”.

    Just ran a test before seeing your post and it seems the issue only affected older posts, but new ones are now showing with a comments field.

    I’m really glad you brought that up about the discussion pane on each post, as I was looking for that and didn’t know how to activate it, so that was helpful.

    The issue seems to have now solved itself or might have been solved by one of the steps above. Thanks for your quick response and advice esmi!

    I would consider the issue resolved.
