simple question on registration

    i did a simple question for the registration and in testing it should not be tripping the error and i dont know why it is.

    i did a echo of the value and the value is 8 so i am not sure if the value is 8 why is it still tripping the error. Im missing something im sure. the code is all placed in the right place.

    here is the code i have i will list this so that you will know where i put the code. inside of wp-login.php

    any suggestions, its tripping the error every time even with 8 and the value of $user_verify is 8 in echo?
