Adding new items on the administration panel

  • Hi all

    I hope some of you can help with a little challenge.

    I’m currently tweaking a theme for a friend starting up her own business. The site hasn’t aired yet, so I can’t link it. I’ll try to describe the challenge as good as I can ??

    For the front page I’ve added three widget areas, designated for the front page. They display the content in three columns.
    It works just fine and I can add content to the widget without any problems. I have to do this for a couple of more templates on the site… This will result in a lot of widget boxes in the admin panel..

    I’ve seen themes like “responsive” by Emil Uzelac (just for the example). In this theme the admin is given a designated menu point for setting the frontpage widget in a nice and very clean layout….

    I know the frontpage is made out of widget, but how do I add this extra space to the admins panel?

    Hope you understand what I’m trying to do!
