How to put a slideshow on the home page

I installed the theme “target 1.8” onto my wordpress site and would like the main home page image to incorporate a slideshow. Is it possible to do this, and if so, how? I installed a widget that allows me to have a slideshow on the inside pages, but I don’t know how to put a slideshow on the homepage. I am not comfortable manipulating code so will need some handholding.
