• OK, I have a wordpress site and I’m using the Responsive 1.4.6 theme.
You can see the site here:https://www.bayougolfcartbatteries.com/

Unfortunately, every page except the home page has the characteristics of a blog, allowing people to comment etc. I need these pages to be static. I have gone through the all the option in the admin panel, but I can’t seem to figure this out.

Can somebody tell me how to make these pages static?

    thanks : )

  • You know what they say about opinions….

… but that has got to be the most hideous background I have ever seen on a website. But, I do admire someone with uniqueness!

    As far as your question,

You can disable comments for individual posts/pages by scrolling down below the content editor, and looking for either “comments” or “discussion”… I can’t remember exactly how it’s named.

But it will give you an option to disable comments for that particular post/page.

Settings -> Discussion. Turn off commenting on all future Posts & Pages by unchecking “Allow people to post comments on new articles”.

To remove commenting from existing Posts & Pages, uncheck “Allow comments” in the Discussion pane on each Edit Page and Edit Post. If you do not see this pane, click Screen Options at the very top of the page and check “Discussion”.

Thanks Josh and esmi. I followed esmi’s instructions completely, but the “leave reply” fields are still on my secondary pages. I unchecked everything in the “settings -> discussion” page. And for each page, I opened “screen options” and unchecked, “custom fields, discussion, comments, slug, author, and revisions,” but I still have have the “leave reply” fields showing up on my secondary pages.

I’m not sure how to trouble shoot this, as I have been trying everything for almost 2 hours.

You can see the sitehere (I’m working on a different site than I originally posted in my first thread).

I know this should be simple, but I can’t seem to figure it out.

In the “settings -> reading” I have checked “front page displays your latest post.” I have this checked to get the theme to work properly.

I really need to remove the reply fields from the secondary pages. Any new ideas, assistance would be great.

    thanks : )

    thanks
