What is the content of the page when you are in the edit screen?

You should see something similar to:

Yep. I have published this code on that page:

Did you publish that code via the “Visual” tab in the editor?

What other plugins do you have active? Could you try deactivating them to see if there’s anything conflicting?

It might also be worthwhile trying a default theme (Twenty Ten or Eleven).

Well I tried publishing the code in both HTML and Visual mode.
Nothing.

I deactivated the one plugin I thought might be causing a conflict (Contact Form 7).
Nothing.

And while I would like to be able to report if there’s a plugin or theme issue, I need all the plugins I’m using and the theme I’m using, so even if I found out, it would do no good… for me.

(But I do have a test site set up using a different theme and plugins and it works there…. so maybe I can reverse-check the theme and plugins there.)

If you have access, you could check you PHP error logs and see if there are any messages being thrown there that might help us locate the issue.

You could also post a list of your active plugins and I can test them, as well, to see if I can find an incompatibility.

I might have found AN issue, if not THE issue.
I’m using a theme called Silveray by Blogperfume, developed in 2008 for WP 2.3.3

I tried installing it on my test blog and immediately got this message:
“The package could not be installed. The style.css stylesheet doesn’t contain a valid theme header.”

Before I go further… do you think that could be it?

i am having a similar problem. i can not get the contact form to display

I thought it was just me. I am having the same issue.

@cozbaldwin: I’m not sure that the theme header is directly responsible, but it is possible that the theme is at fault, hence why I recommended you switch to a different theme to see if the contact form will show up. Check with the company to see if they have an updated version of the theme. I’ll also start looking at your plugins and see if I can see any that conflict.

@everyone else: please provide a URL to your form that doesn’t work. Also, try these two steps:

1. Disable all other plugins, check to see if the form is working, then enable plugins one-by-one until the form disappears.

2. Switch to a default theme (Twenty Ten or Twenty Eleven) and see if the form appears. If it does, switch back to your theme.

I used Twenty Eleven themes to modify according to my needs, so theme structure did not change.

Disabled all the plugins but Jetpack and it does seem to be a plugin issue. I’ll go through each one now to see which one causes the problem.

I’m not sure this will help any/all of you who are having issues with the contact feature, but I would take a look at any plugins which modify or allow modification of shortcodes.

I can’t remember the name of the plugin I tried before, but there was an issue in how it used/implemented its various shortcodes.

Also, I’m highly skeptical of any WordPress installation using “Register Plus” or “Register Plus Redux” plugins, with all the problems which have been verified with them.

I found my issue. It was the Simple Facebook Connect.

Cozbaldwin, it looks like you are using the plugin as well. Perhaps try and disable it and see if your contact form shows up.
