• Hello,
I have decided to use the Yak cart system for a site. I have purchased the manual and if I can get this to work plan on purchasing the MIGS gateway in the future.
I have begun a new site and the plan is to have both downloadable and physical products. However, I am having some difficulties getting the downloadable part to work correctly.
I cannot figure out how to put the files in a directory that is PHP accessible, while also not being visable via a browser. All web files are in the folder public_html, should I put my downloadable files in the same root folder as this? I have tried this, but I cannot get the “download file” of the product to point to them without it giving the error “Sorry, an error occurred, unable to open the file” when clicking on the received link.

Since this is a new brand we are starting, my site is using an add-on domain and I think this may be the issue.

    Thanks,
    Kel.

“public_html” is definitely not the right place. Is there a folder above that? After which, you’ll probably need to talk to your web host to find the absolute path to that directory.

Which makes me think I need to revisit the way YAK handles these files because it’s obviously not particularly intuitive…

PS. The YAK forums are a better place to post support questions… occasionally I forget to check the WP forums and you’ll be left hanging for an answer.
