Embedded YouTube video very choppy for 20 secs , but smooth on YouTube website

  • When I play a video I’ve embedded (via YouTube) on my blog the video (not audio) is very choppy for the first 20 seconds and sometimes the video never catches up to the audio. When I play it on the YouTube website, it’s smooth.

    Factors to help diagnose the problem:

    * To get the video to play well, I need to let it play for 20 seconds or more (while it’s choppy) and then pull the dial back to the beginning to restart the video. After two or three times of restarting like that, it’s smooth.

    * I use: HostGater shared server for hosting and Chrome for my browser. (I emailed HostGater and they said it’s not a problem on their end since the video is linked to YouTube. Although wouldn’t it still need to run through HostGater? )

    * My embed code looks like this: <p style=”text-align: center;”><iframe src=”https://www.youtube.com/embed/z-qNdhcuUHM&#8221; frameborder=”0″ width=”500″ height=”281″></iframe></p>
