How do I get a simple Markdown plugin working?

    (Go ahead type in some markdown and watch it render)

    This is for my personal home page, and will have notes, articles, links to projects.
    Getting MathJax to work was fairly easy. However, as usual getting a plugin to actually do what it’s supposed to seems to require me to be a WP expert.

    I need a getting Markdown to work in WP for idiots guide. I’ve already tried a plugin, and failed. If it had live preview by default, I would even pay $100 for that feature since getting a live preview latex editor on windows is non-trivial for me.
