• I plan to create two sites, let’s say:

    1. example.com – a wordpress site that is more of a static site to display my design portfolio.

    2. example.com/blog – a wordpress site where I will blog

My question is – should I go with multisite or should I just create a fresh new install on a separate subfolder (e.g. /blog)? I’ve already tested out multisite and wasn’t a huge fan, mostly because of all the issues that came up with the permalinks and URL structure. I don’t really want to have to deal with redirects and editing the htaccess file or using any plugins to fix these URL issues. Also, I discovered that once you install multisite, you can’t use the slug /blog on a new site you want to add to your network.

Would really appreciate the feedback! Thanks!

If you go with Multisite there is ONE thing to be aware of.

    You can’t use /blog

I know, sucks. You can use /news/ or /myblog/ but the /blog subfolder term is restricted. When you make blogposts on example.com, it will automattically put them in at example.com/blog/postname
