• I have a problem with too many internal links and I need to make sure that Google re-crawls ALL of my blog posts.

The posts have been generated over many months and inadvertently I had added a ‘blogroll’ list of links to my main website (not in WordPress) this has causes a large volume of internal links.

My sitemap Google Sitemap Generator Plugin by Arne Brachhold. shows the dates and I am worried that Google will not re-crawl old pages.

Is there a way to either:
    1. change the site in the sitemap generator to be today’s date OR
    2. a plugin or other way to ‘update’ ALL posts

    Thanks for advice… ??

  • If you want you can change the “frequency” for each page specified in the sitemap to instruct Google that such pages are still changing. By using a plugin such as Google XML Sitemaps, you can configure it to set the frequency of posts to “weekly”, which means blog posts are expected to change once a week.
