• I am attempting to log into my WordPress website.

For some reason I cannot get in. I have made no changes to the password or user. I have logged into my CPanel and changed the password in the PHPMyAdmin (using an MD5 generator) and it still does not let me in. It either just says bad password or gives an error on the index.php line 27.

Fatal error: Call to undefined function is_user_admin() in /home/presti13/public_html/wp-admin/index.php on line 27

I have also tried to reset it by clicking the forgot password on the login page and when I login with the new password given to me by WordPress again it just comes up with the error above.

Any suggestions. I have never had this trouble before.

    Look forward to your assistance.

I have tried most everything on these two links:

    https://codex.www.ads-software.com/Resetting_Your_Password
    https://codex.www.ads-software.com/Login_Trouble

And still I get the same error. Perhaps the problem is not the password. Could really use some help here.

    Thanks!

https://www.aprivatemembersclub.com/wp-login.php and with correct username and password I get this.
    Not Found

The requested URL /wp-admin/wp-login.php was not found on this server.

Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.
I don’t know if this is a wordpress or hosting provider issue. Does anyone know? Also installed wordpress with Fantasico in CPanel from Primehost.

You seem to be calling /wp-admin twice in your urls, which leads to a 404, not found error.

Do you have an error in your site addresses in general settings? Or, some type of .htaccess redirect error?

I noticed the site at root isn’t wordpress. Generally, you would need to serve wordpress from a sub-directory, however I found this in the root directory.

Did you by any chance install wordpress dierctly into your root directory along-side another pre-existing site or other pages?

    Hello Everyone,
    WP newbie here.
Somewhere in either wp or s2member I flipped a switch that brings up a redirect to the s2member login page when anyone types in the url. Obviously, my intention is not to prohibit access to my site without a uname and password. How do I turn this off?
    All assistance is greatly appreciated!

I am not sure what you mean. Site address where do i fix it. If I send you my email address can you fix it for me. It would be greatly appreciated.
    Thank you

    Hi there,
Thanks for a response, more succinctly my statement is “i type in my url and i am redirected to the uname pwd – s2member, login page. I do not want to protect the site this way. It needs to be general access. I will check my general setting but I do no think that is the issue. What about when the picture of a lock shows up next to the right hand side in AllPages to the right of each page?
    Thanks so nuch

Thank you for asking, but no. If you like you can post a request for experienced help for hire here: https://jobs.wordpress.net/

Start a new thread for your plugin issue please.

Hi not looking for charity and never asked you to fix it for me merely request to look into an area of which I might resolve my issue, quite presumptuos of you.
good luck with your online support

As embarrassing for you as this may be: you need to learn how to read..

No disrespect intended here I’m a sure you are quite skilled. How very simple to say “gee newbie go here to post your request.”

*yawn*.. You can save the pretentious, passive aggressive banter, because I really don’t mind that you’re a “newbie” or not. Everyone starts somewhere.

This is a great example of what happens when you:

    1) hijack a thread as you have done, and

    2) you don’t pay attention to the flow of conversation in a thread with more than two people in it. It happens, let’s just get by it.

You don’t seem to be in tune with the content or chronology of what’s transpired in this thread, but that’s okay. Perhaps you’re looking at responses by e-mail? I don’t know, but…

    a) you started by hijacking this thread (you weren’t the only one, mind you)

    b) you seem to pretend like others were responding to you, when in fact the only one who ever actually did was me, by asking you to start your OWN thread for your plugin issue per the forum rules…

“Posting your own topic is smiled upon. Unless you’re having 100% without any doubts or variation, the exact same problem, do not post in someone else’s thread. Make your own.”

… being a “newbie”, you may have overlooked them. Here’s your chance to read them: Welcome to the WordPress Support Forum

Now, if you really want support for your plugin related issue, go and start your own thread, in the section that is most likely related to your issue, with a title and description that is unique to your problem. And make sure that whoever you are responding to is actually talking to you. We’ve all made that mistake a time or two.
