[Plugin: WP Mobile Detector] Detector not working in iPhone emualtors

  • Hi,
    I am trying my site with your plugin installed.
    Works fine in my Android phones, the correct content is served up.
    But with online iPhone emulators, the normal non-mobile site is being served up.
    So, I am not sure whether this is an issue with the emulators, the wp mobile detector plugin, or what. FYI, I don’t have an iPhone.

    Can you tell me if:
    1)anyone have an iphone test to see if the correct content is coming up (it’s obvious, but if you see the “follow us” on left, the incorrect content is being served up)
    2) Assuming the mobile detector plugin is working correctly with iPhones/iPads, is there any way I can fake out the online iPhone emulators?

    You can download the true iPhone simulator from Apple.com.

    You can’t rely on any online emulators because the detection of the mobile device is through the user agent. Online emulators can’t properly change the user agent which is what causes your discrepancies.

    But your best bet is to download the iPhone simulator from Apple, its free.
