[Plugin: EP Hashimage] Cannot display images

Hi CJH,

From what I can see it seems like the webserver don’t allow timthumb to create the cache files in the server tmp upload folder. IT should work and do work for most users.

At the moment the only solution we have for this is to manually edit the timthumb-config.php in the plugin folder and change the “FILE_CACHE_DIRECTORY” path to a new folder in for example wordpress upload folder.

We are aware that this is far from a good solution so we are looking for a better one to use in the future.

Could you explain this in more detail so I can make the necessary changes?

I have contacted my hosting provider and they said they don’t allow the use of the tmp folder for security reasons.

I have just updated the plugin with a fix for this problem.

We have decided to move the cache folder to the uploads folder within wordpress, so if you wordpress set up is right everything should work for you know.

Please leave a comment after you tested so I can close this tread as solved.

I have updated the plugin and it still does not display the images but I can see that the layout has changed to a bullet point style. I have a cache folder in the uploads folder.

There where some problems with the SVN today for me, so for some reason the style css file where missing in the latest update. I have once again updated the plugin so the css file is there and you should not see a bullet list. (there is no new version number this time)

About broken images, do I understand you right that you get a folder called “ep-hashimage” in /wp-content/uploads/” ?

If you do, then I don’t really know why it’s not working for you. Test with manually give the ep folder a 0777 permissions.

Can you please make sure that the uploads folder is set to full read/write permission (0777) If you need help on how to check that, contact your hosting provider.

I have reinstalled it with the uploads folder set to 777. There is still no folder called “ep-hashimage” in /wp-content/uploads/”, it is only in /wp-content/plugins/ and the images do not display.

I just tested to install the plugin on one of my wordpress sites that not yet have had this plugin installed and I did not have any trouble.

After install and using the shortcode in a post the “ep_hashimage” folder where located in the uploads folder and my images where showing as they should.

I’m sry, but I don’t know how to help you at this time since I’m unable to replicate your problem.

Perhaps, if possible for you, test with a fresh installation of WordPress?
