[Plugin: Knews Multilingual Newsletters] Category subscriptions?

You can create as many mailing lists as you like, and a user can be subscribed to more than one mailing list.

If you associate more than one mailing list to a language (or if you run Knews as monolingual mode and create more than one mailing list) Knews provide a dropdown select in the subscription form and widget with the mailing lists for user to choose.

is it possible to subscribe to particular url or search term/query also?, so when NEW post appear on “specific query” to automatically send newsletters?

Not for now. But we considere it. Do you think about some like RSS, automated, right?

something like that, but in email form.

The idea is that the visitor can subscribe to ONLY what he wants and not a bunch of bombarding newsletters with all kind of content.

Example 1 “Category subscription”:
Visitor goes into desired category and there is no posts at the moment.
The pages shows “Looking for posts in %category%?” Subscribe to…

Example 2 “Query subscription”:
Visitor does the query (search or any other type of query) which brings out the specific URL. Again, “no posts for current search??, subscribe and be the first to know” etc…

I think it could be done with cronJob on daily or eve hourly basis. it goes thru all subscribed categories and links and checks weather there are new posts or not, and send out newsletters…

This would be very welcome for many sites where the posts flow is big… Aggregates specially…

Just wanted to see if there were still plans to create/provide subscriptions by category and maybe even post-type? It’s a great way to use the auto-create feature already included.

I believe this is not possible yet, and I’m also waiting…

till then you can try “post notification” plugin, it works on 3.4.1 for me, but not sure if it works on 3.5.
