[Plugin: eShop] Security warning after leaving PayPal

    I would like Elfin to answer this question since the last time I posted the question I was not able to get a full answer.
    I am using eShop with PayPal. After you make a purchase and then return to the Thank You page of my site, I get a security warning, saying that the page is not encrypted. I have read a number of posts that say you do not need SSL with this plugin. If that’s true, then why am I getting a security warning? I’d rather not have to set up SSL, but if there really is a security problem, how would I set up the SSL to work with eShop? You mentioned a plugin in one of your other posts. What plugin?
    And if there is not a security problem, then how do I prevent the security warning from displaying?
    I have tried all kinds of combinations of settings on PayPal and eShop, but always get the security warning. I haven’t seen any other posts about this, which seems odd to me. Is anyone else getting this message?

    3. Whatever I say, he would say too (he’s sitting about 12 inches away from me – it’s a very small office).

    As I explained to your previously, this is not an eShop issue. Nor is it a security issue. It’s a notification message from your browser as you move from PayPal’s https to your site’s http. And there is absolutely nothing we can do about it.

    I have the same concerns as the original poster, I understand its not an eShop issue and its not a security issue.

    But it IS a customer experience issue. I got this same warning when I purchased the eShop UPS rates plugin today and it made me feel uneasy.

    It’s just not ideal to have a warning pop-up that falsely informs the customer they’re financial information may be easy stolen.

    You mentioned this is a browser warning when going HTTPS > HTTP…

    So if I do use SSL the error will be gone right? or will that break the eshop plugin?
    And if it does break the plugin can I use a subdomain somehow to separate eshop and the SSL thank you page.

    I’m fairly new to using SSL so any ideas you may have would be much appreciated.
