Show number of comments left on a page in sidebar?

  • I did quite a few searches and found nothing that explains this..

    I would like make is so that in my sidebar under the pages section, to show the number of comments left on a page, like down in the category section where it tells you the number of posts in a certain category.

    Since Pages were never meant to be commented… I doubt wou’ll find a solution for it.

    if they were never meant to be commented on, then why are we given that option when creating a page?

    Because you have an incomplete theme that doesn’t have page.php template (I assume) and index.php is used to display the Pages…

    I put comments on my pages, too.

    But… I don’t know of a way to show the number of comments by each page. Hmm. I haven’t ever saw anyone do that. I clicked here to see the answer LOL ?? but there isn’t one.

    yeah… i just want it for my guestbook that i just made… i just wanted a little number to show up next the the link in the sidebar… i’m sure that there is a way to do it, its just a matter of someone figuring it out…i’m just not good with all this code…

    Is that kinda what you mean? Behind each posts there’s the nr of comments on that posts.

    No, I want to show the number of comments on pages, in the page links in the sidebar. But I fear this might mean waiting for someone to add more functionality to wp_list_pages?
