[Plugin: BackUpWordPress] Wp-content Write/Owner Permissions on WinServer 2008 R2?
-
I recently installed BackUpWordPress 1.6.8 on my WordPress 3.3.1 site (on WinServer 2008 R2, IIS 7.5) and immediately got the permissions error telling me “your wp-content directory isn’t writable”.
I adjusted the wp-content folder permissions to full Modify allowed for both IUSR and IIS_IUSRS group, and the “can’t write” message still persists (and, of course, the automated backups with default settings don’t occur as scheduled).
The message also recommends a “chown” command to set my WordPress personal admin account to be the owner of the wp-content folder. Does BackUpWordPress require my personal WP login to be the owner of that entire folder? If so, why? I thought IUSR was the only access account WP and all its plugins needed to write to the file structure.
Am I missing something?
