• Hi,

This is my first post and my first wordpress site I am trying to set up. I have got the basic menu options for a thesis theme site.

Ideally I would like to have one menu link ‘Articles’ and for this page to have an intro paragraph, then articles displayed as title, a paragraph of intro text and an image. with the latest article at the top. each snippet to have a MORE button or similar that takes a user to the full article. Do these pages automatically have breadcrumbs?

I am not sure how different this is from displaying blogs or if there is already an option to display this, but so far on my google searches I have found entries referring to plug ins that usually require a bunch of coding (that this newbie cant do) and ftp uploads.

Sorry for this novice question, but can anyone point me to a simple way of displaying articles that I make?

oh, my site is https://doghappy.com.au/ and as you can see it is mostly the original template, still figuring out how to display the menu etc …

With the article page, it would be great to display at least 30 to 50 article snippets. J query displays are nice etc, but i want google to be able to read the text, not just have slick graphics on the page. Previously I did this kind of index in joomla so I figured it should be easy here?

I’m sorry but as you are using a commercial theme, you need to seek support from the theme’s vendors.

Isn’t there some kind of standard inbuilt function that I can use common to all blogs? I am only using this theme because someone gave it to me and suggested that it would be better than the default that everyone else uses. In joomla, making them into article snippets is part of the standard package and not tied to the template, not so here?

    Nope. It’s all theme dependant.
