Lightbox questions

  • i am revisiting WordPress, for the first time since serious illness stopped me a while back.

    I am just trying to get my head around some basics and having trouble understanding – I must be getting old – and am hoping someone can spare a few minutes to give me a simple explanation and/or point me in the right direction.

    The site I am trying to set up at the moment is https://www.davidbeaver.net/wp and is essentially just to display photos. I have installed the Polaroids 1.41 theme and the Lightbox Plus plugin. All I want at this stage is to have the HOME page look like the theme sample – that is it is one cover photo from that group – then when you click on the cover photo, you go to a post/page that has thumbnails of all the photos from that group which then open in a lightbox gallery.

    Can someone please help so I can get an understanding of how this works.
