• Hi, I really hope someone can help me. I’ve been running my blog for just over 2 years and haven’t had any issues with is what so ever. I have always been able to login and view it. On either the latest version of Firefox or Safari with no issues. However yesterday, it just randomly decided never to work again. I can’t load it and I can’t login. It just spins like it’s loading for ages then nothing happens, or I get an error page saying what I am looking for doesn’t exist.

    I’m finding this really odd because I can login using my iPhone with no issues and view it fine. Other people can view it because I have tried other computers and it works fine there, it just seems to be my Macbook that I can’t view it on on any browser tried. Also my boyfriends Macbook wont load it neither. I thought it may have been some Mac issue that occurred, but my brothers Macbook will load it so it’s not.

    I have cleared my cache and cookies, nothing will fix it. I just can’t load it on my computer. I have been receiving comments and views though so I know it’s working for others. Does anyone know what the issue might be? It’s causing such a problem because I need to make some posts and I can’t unless I borrow someone elses.     Yeah I know, it works fine for everyone but me. If I try to login in on another computer, it takes ages and then when I finally get in, I am unable to make a post or unable to make any changes to my WordPress dashboard at all. I don’t even know how to fix this since my WordPress is playing up. I already have the latest version of WordPress and I can’t really change anything since I am having such issues logging in ??

    If it works for other people but not for you, then it’s not a WordPress issue. It will be something to do with your local network.

    No I mean the login is the issue, it’s on anyone’s computer, I can login, but I can’t do anything in my dashboard at all, I can go to things but it wont let me post, it wont let me update anything or change anything within the WordPress dashboard and if you do try to do anything it takes ages and ages to load in the first place ??

    Hmm it seems to work if I use 3G on my phone and not Wifi. So do you think it’s my internet? How would they just block my website though, it’s a little confusing to me ??

    At a guess I’d say that it’s either your home network’s router or its/your firewall that’s the problem. Definitely a local issue. The iPhone test proves that.

    I don’t think I have a firewall since I’m on a Mac, or do you mean a internet firewall that works on all of our laptops? I was wondering since it doesn’t work on my boyfriends computer either (he doesn’t live with me, he lives further away) but he is on the same internet provider as me, if it’s them? I turned my router on and off and unplugged it but it still hasn’t fixed the issue. At least I can sort of do it from my phone right now which is a relief. Although that’s really tricky.

    My internet ended up being down for hours trying to fix anything, but it’s back now and the only thing still broken is my blog ?? I’m really unsure how to go about fixing it. Do you think my internet company has done something to security and it’s blocking my website? Since it’s blocking it for my boyfriend too on the same internet provider.

    I suppose it’s possible. You could certainly ask them to help you troubleshoot the problem.

    I will try. Thanks esmi. If this doesn’t work I don’t have a clue what to do as I’m stuck ??

    Remember to mention that you can access your site when using your iPhone, Since that means you were not on your local network and/or using another provider, it should help to convince them to look into this properly.

    Hmm it seems to work on Chrome, I downloaded that and it works. However I still can’t make a post. I keep getting a server issue. So do you think that’s it? My server? I did recently install a back ups plugin which was working ok for a day and then I got this issue, I have deactivated that and deleted it, but I’m still getting the issue.

    This is what I keep getting:

    Internal Server Error

    The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request.

    Please contact the server administrator and inform them of the time the error occurred, and anything you might have done that may have caused the error.

    More information about this error may be available in the server error log.

    Hmm it seems to work on Chrome, I downloaded that and it works.

    So you now login effectively, yes? That would make sense as it does come under the “local network” umbrella.

    However I still can’t make a post.

    This is almost certainly a completely different issue. Try:

    – deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem. If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).

    – switching to the Twenty Eleven theme to rule out any theme-specific problems.

    resetting the plugins folder by FTP or PhpMyAdmin. Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems.
