3.4 installed, now getting 'server error' instead of Dashboard

Yeah, the front-end of the site is working fine, it’s just the back-end that I can’t get into anymore. Thanks for your help

Yes, I still can’t get into my Dashboard, apart from the login page. Everything else comes up with a server error.

What error are you getting? Can you copy and paste here?

500 Server error indicates that PHP’s crashing, it may be a plugin or your theme.

Have you tried:

– deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem. If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).

– switching to the Twenty Eleven theme to rule out any theme-specific problems.

– resetting the plugins folder by FTP or PhpMyAdmin. Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems.

– re-uploading the wp-admin and wp-includes folders from a fresh download of WordPress.

thanks for that, resetting the plugins folder worked for me, so I’ll have a go-through and see what was causing the problem

It’s tedious but reactivate one, test, reactivate the next one, test, etc. You should be able to identify the problem that way.

Yesterday someone indicated he had 94 plugins, hopefully you have less than that… ??

I’m interested in hearing which plugin caused the error you’re experiencing.

I updated a few plugins that had updates available, like WordPress SEO, and I deactivated a few old plugins that I didn’t use anymore, but everything I reactivated worked fine, so I’m not entirely sure which plugin was causing the problem, sorry.

Also BuddyPress was updated yesterday to support WordPress 3.4.

I wasn’t aware the BuddyPress had any issues. Do you happen to know what they were?
