• Nothing serious so far…
All other updates of sites and multi-sites at other hosting co. worked fine…
But with my own site hosted with ISP on Windows server I get this error trying to update my multi-site from 3.3 to 3.4

Warning: copy(D:/www/domainname/www/wp-admin/includes/update-core.php): failed to open stream: Permission denied in D:\www\domainname\www\wp-admin\includes\class-wp-filesystem-direct.php on line 200
    Could not copy files.
    Installation Failed

I assume it might have something to do with chmod certain folders, but I am not sure…
    Thanks for helping.

  • It’s either a permissions or an ownership issue. Unfortunately, you just got the short straw as Windows servers are not my area of expertise (I normally avoid them like the plague). The quickest solution would be for you to carry out a manual upgrade. Failing that, have a word with your hosts about it.

    Hi esmi,
Thanks for the quick reply, really appreciated.
Yes I thought something like this…
Because it is a multi-site I am kind of worried to do a manual upgrade.
Maybe some other helpers might have some idea?
But I will try from this side too.
    Thanks again.

    Grtz.

A manual upgrade should be no different in a multisite install.

    I’ll start reading then, Thanks.
