Cant save updates to Posts/Pages {really Weird}

  • Hi,

    I have been using WP on over 10 sites for 2 years now I have never had a problem (well one I could not solve) I now have one I have spent 4 days trying to solve and getting no closer.

    In the last 4 days I have been unable to save a post or page that I have edited, this is only happening on one site on the same server.
    It works fine if I write a new page. (ie it will save the page)

    I recently updated this site to 3.4 but it was already doing this prior to the upgrade.
    I searched and searched I have tried .htaccess suggestions and everything else I could find to no avail. I disabled all plugins still the same, I tried accessing and chainging the site through 3 different PCs and 3 browsers still the same.
    Tried fixes on phpmyadmin DB tried changing the theme to twenty 10.

    One Strange thing I have ticked Atom publishing protocol and XML-RPC and I can make changes and they do save from my I Pad but this is really hard to use to play with pictures and I need a better fix than this.
    In frustration I started another PC that had the original version of this site on a Xampp server (WP 3.04)this PC was not conected to the internet.
    I was about to copy the sql db of the latest site version but for fun I thought I would try modifying an original page and to my amazement this was doing the same thing and it did originally work when updating. I could not change and save this file now. I am totally confused. I am at a total loss. I have just tried another site on the xampp server (no internet) and the update works fine. My next step is to scrap the whole site/DB and rewrite it but I dont feel that this will work as the older version on XAMPP does the same thing.
    I would appreciate any ideas anyone might have.

    I had 3000 comments on this Blog wondered if somehow this could have been the cause of the problem ie not enough memory so today I deleted them all. But alas this made no difference to the problem I still could not modify a post or page and update it when I do I am still left with the un modified post. Will keep working on this issue any other ideas greatly appreciated.

    Still going tried messing around with PHP.ini file still no luck anyone any ideas ?

    This just gets stranger I have used my ipad to make changes through XML-RPC and they updated the page fine then I went back 10mins later and it reverted to the old page.
    I wrote a new page today and it works fine but now I definatly cannot modify any pages does any one have any ideas.

    I have read and re-read every post with no luck there was a mention with a link:

    that is now dead does anyone know what was contained in this link ?

    I have a similar issue. Nothing more to add though unfortunately. Just wanted to let you know you’re not alone.

    If i discover anything, I’ll post here.

    For me, when publishing a page (whether new or existing) the page doesnt publish and I’m redirected to the posts page (edit.php)

    have tried increasing memory limit using wp-config line and .htaccess line, but am seeing no change.
