• Hi

I have just created a site with the suffusion theme and want to start building a ‘pleasing to the eye’ and functional website and want to start with a basic structure, horizontal menu across the top, vertical menu down the right hand side and maybe some stuff in the footer.

I have been sitting trying to work out how to add menus and so far have only got the home, welcome, about me parts but no idea how to add anything else. I have read various items on how to add menus from downloading menus plus to adding code in the header file and changing CSS files and what have you.

I downloaded menu plus as I want to have sub-menus and I think that’s what I need. I am not sure how to use this to actually start adding menus, if indeed that is possible. Do I need to add code, or do I add menus in the menu list then use menu + to only add sub menus?

If so how do I actually add more menu items along the top and down the right hand side?

I have been trying to follow this example:

    https://codex.www.ads-software.com/Creating_Horizontal_Menus

and it only tells you where to put the code in WP v1.2 and 1.5 not the 3.4 version I am on. So I do not know where to put the code, in the header.php or the index.php. If I do that then do I have to remove the menus added in the dashboard?

    Thanks

    W

Ok I copied the javascript into my header file and changed my CSS to suit and it seems to work ok now.

Ok now I want to know how to create a new page for each menu item. I know how to link to it but unsure how to create the page and what files to use in filezilla or in the back end admin area.

The Suffusion theme has an active free support forum to get some answers for this.

You may also consider using a child theme so these changes will not be lost with an upgrade.
