This happens in each of 4 themes I’m using on a beta site at https://netwizardry.net/nightwiz/, including Classic and default.

Clicking on “edit” under a post, or on the comments page (anywhere, really) takes one to the Manage page in admin, BUT even though the Manage page loads completely, it immediatly refreshes to the permalink archived page.

It can be “stopped” by pressing escape at the moment the Manage page has loaded completely – if one is quick on the trigger finger…. Once stopped, one may edit normally and save the edits.

This is still occurring with the 2.0 beta 2 distro. Anyone besides me seeing this problem?

No, but I have an idea of what could cause it. I’ll look into it. I may hit you up for testing. ??

Fine by me, just holler. I’m always happy to help. And since I’m retired, I get to play all day anyway!

Little update here: blew the above post: editing comments either through the Manage screen or by clicking “edit” under the comment itself doesn’t do this in beta 2; only attempting to edit a post exhibits the behavior. And since it appears that the version on wordpress.com doesn’t have this problem either, dare I hope that it’s a fairly quick fix, and that it might be “near birth”?

Update again: It’s now NOT doing the above. I’ve done nothing different. I have NOT “upgraded” to the RC1 version, after reading some of the problems with it. Ryan, I haven’t a clue why this would stop in midstream refreshing to the archive page with no intervention, not that I’m complaining, mind!

I did install UTW however in the interim. Not sure if that would have been the problem-solver or not….

I encountered the same problem, with WP 2.0 RC1, RC2 and RC3 installed today. I once disabled all my plugins and the problem was still there. I thought maybe this problem will stay while WP 2.0 final come out. So can anybody tell me how to fix it?

‘nother li’l update: I updated the installation to RC3 yesterday. The edit-reload-to-archive-page immediately resurfaced. This time I deactivated all plugins and reactivated one by one to find the culprit.

And the winner is: SEM Frame-Buster. Oh well…. I can live without it….
