[Plugin: Jetpack by WordPress.com] Stats – split view of frontpage

    I’m using a static page as a frontpage (Front page displays under Settings > Reading). In my Jetpack stats, it seems like the system is making a separation between this page and the home page. I’m getting:

    Home page / Archives 	72
Home 			50

    Home is my frontpage display page, selected under Settings > Reading. Home page / Archives, I guess is the default system page somehow.

    If I hover over either page above, they both show the URL to the same homepage.

    Is this a bug? Is there anyway to avoid these split results?

    Hi, you should have only one entry for your frontpage, “Home page / Archives”. What is the URL of your site?

    Thanks for getting in touch! Unfortunately can’t post URL, it’s a client’s site.

    I don’t know if anyone else has had any issue, when using WordPress as a CMS (instead of as a blog) and setting a specific page as frontpage display page? Otherwise it’s probably caused by something else in our setup.

    The entry “Home Page / Archives” also comprises archive/category/tag/author pages. Do category pages feature in your client’s site? If yes, that’s probably the explanation for the two entries.

    Hi Martin, many thanks for follow-up. That probably clears it up. “Home page / Archives” is essentially most core parts (category/archive/tag/etc) and our “Home” page above is the frontpage display page, but even though this is set, it doesn’t get counted towards the “Homepage / Archives”, but instead keeps its own result.

    To me, it would make sense if the frontpage display page also became part of the “Homepage / Archives” result, but not a big deal I guess.

    You’re right, folding frontpage views into “Homepage / Archives” would make sense, I’ll make a note to do some more testing and hopefully we’ll have a fix soon.

    Same issue, but just wanted to add that I’m using the “WP No Category Base – WPML compatible” plugin in case that makes any difference.
